Review 10: How To Be Good (Nick Hornby)
A novel about ruin and redemption. The portrait of contemporary ruin is evocative, colorful, and heart-rending: graciously presented with a comical slant. The portrait of redemption is lacking, though. Still vaguely there, but ringing hollow. The redemption here is of the dime store variety. Still, I'm thankful. Hornby has the vision to see that some kind redemption is possible.
